THE WASHINGTON STATE LEGISLATURE HAS PASSED A LAW REQUIRING A “DISCOVERY PASS” TO ACCESS ANY LAND MANAGED BY THE STATE OF WASHINGTON AGENCIES. This pass will cost you $30 per year per vehicle. Licensed ATV’s and off road motorcycles are exempt as long as the machine has a current license. The Washington State Game Dept. attaches a “Vehicle Use Permit” to hunting licenses and this will work also but only on WDF&W lands. THE COLVILLE/WENATCHEE FORESTS HAVE RELEASED A “PROPOSED ACTION” FOR THE FOREST PLAN REVISION THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON NOW FOR SEVERAL YEARS! THEY ARE ASKING THE PUBLIC FOR THEIR COMMENTS TO HELP THEM DEVELOP ALTERNATIVES. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT STEP FOR USERS OF PUBLIC LANDS AS THIS IS WHERE YOUR IDEAS WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP THE DRAFT PLAN AND ULTIMATELY THE NEW PLAN FOR MANAGEMENT OF THE FORESTS.
